Andres, what are you doing? Where’s that promised video critique?
I haven’t even begun filming it. An unexpected opportunity came up and I am now actually working on a game for a change. I’m very excited.
Can’t give away any details, but hopefully once pre-production slows down I should be able to find a slow period to either write or record.
This isn’t one of those “I forgot / I was lazy / I didn’t know what to write” circumstances. I am genuinely busy. Trust me. I’ll provide proof someday.

I’ve moved!
Welcome to the new home of It May Even Be in Our Time. We have a new look and a new address, new space and a new layout. And CSS! Soon to be integrated into the new OrtizGames layout, as well. Get ready to have your mind blown.
Part of this new kick in the rear for me is the fact that I’m graduating come May, and I need to have my portfolio site set up. Another part of it is the fact that my last post was in 2008 and I have not been able to really deeply analyze something in video games for even longer. My game designer streak needs attention. I need to write. Assassin’s Creed II is coming out and someone needs to complain about it.
Looks like this is a job for, wait for it, Superman.
No, seriously, I’m coming back. Just give me a month to update the freaking site.

I’m building a game. I don’t have time to document it because I am so behind in production. It will be posted here when it is released. It will be interesting. You will be able to let your kids play it. I hope you like it.

Yes, yes, I know, I know, where’s the SPORE critique? Where’s my game news? What’s happening?
To be honest, there’s nothing going on right now. So don’t worry about it. The game world is incredibly dull, except for Warhammer.
And the Fracture and Mercenaries 2 demos are lackluster, if not terrible.
I’m working on a game right now, so I don’t have much time to talk. Yes, a game. I’ll be uploading my portfolio with my work (finally) at some point soon and then I’ll keep posting about progress with this thing. It’s actually rather exciting. I’m just nervous.
Work is slowly taking over my life. And then there’s World of Warcraft and Monster Hunter, which are viruses. Not to mention I’m giving Beyond Good and Evil a full playthrough, and I still need to get Eye of Judgment to work (why is it so hard to make the cards readable?). My time is nonexistent. In theory. So give me a few more days, maybe a week, and I’ll give you guys the scoop.
God I need sleep.

I can’t talk right now. I’m too busy applying for an internship, applying for scholarships, turning in midterms, working on commissions (due May) and playing Metal Gear Online.
MGO is my only salvation. My nerves are shot and I’ve worked myself down through the skin this weekend. Come Wednesday everything should be turned in, however, and I will be able to breathe once more.
Holding breath until then.
Wish me luck.
MGO is awesome, by the way.

I’ve really needed this break for the past few weeks. Come next week I’ll be going out of town for a convention, but I’ll be back soon after and hopefully very refreshed and ripe with ideas.
We’ll see how things go.
Bully review still pending, followed by a lot of other crap I want to talk about. Sorry for not being able to get on it–I always find myself lacking time for anything halfway through the semester. I’ve only just realized I have no real portfolio and it’s mortifying.
Anyway, more to come later. For now, blissful sleep.
